The Montgomery County Commission approved it's new budget Monday morning just in the nick of time.
The 102 million dollar spending plan goes went into effect Monday. It includes a 4 percent pay adjustment for commissioners and a 2 percent cost of living raise for retirees.
Money was also designated to help build the new county jail, which is already under construction.
32 percent of the budget goes toward public safety. That includes the sheriff, sheriff's deputies, as well as adult and juvenile detention facilities.
