The man accused of killing Montgomery Police Officer Keith Houts was in court Wednesday.
Montgomery District Attorney Ellen Brooks and Mario Woodward's attorney Richard Keith tell WSFA 12 News that Mario Woodward plead "not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity."
Judge Truman Hobbs ordered a mental evaluation for Woodward.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's office provided the case file to Woodward's attorneys.
Woodward's next trial date is set for March 31st, 2008.
Officer Houts was murdered after he pulled over a suspect for speeding near downtown on September 28, 2006.
