Lake Martin in Desperate Drought Situation

The drought situation in Alabama isn't getting any better, especially in Alexander City.

Lake Martin water levels are so low the city is taking drastic measures to make sure drinking water doesn't disapear.

The city has started a $50,000 project to float four barges on the lake.

The State Department of Environmental Management is keeping a close eye on the project.

Already, one barge is place and crews are placing four new pumps under water.

City leaders are also asking Congressman Mike Rogers for federal help.
