The first incident occured in the back of a school bus while students were being transported to a field trip destination.

The second incident occured in a classroom.

School officials suspended the students for a week, but did not report the incident to police.

By law, local authorities have to be notified if there's a possible crime committed on school property.

However, the police chief and school superintendent have different opinions on whether a crime was committed.
