Clyde the Turkey Receives Pardon

Clyde the turkey will live to see another Thanksgiving thanks to a pardon from Governor Bob Riley.

The annual Thanksgiving event took place Wednesday at the governor's mansion.

Clyde was "pardoned for the crime of being a big, delicious-looking turkey in November."

Children from local elementary schools participated in the event.

The governor's pardon of a Thanksgiving turkey dates back to 1947.
