Governor Appoints New Bullock County District Judge

 MONTGOMERY- Governor Bob Riley has appointed Theresa J. Daniel, of Union Springs, as Bullock County District Judge.  Daniel is filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Mike Emfinger.

"I am pleased to appoint Theresa Daniel as Bullock County District Judge," said Governor Riley.  "She brings a wealth of legal experience and is extremely qualified for the job.  I am confident she will serve the people of Bullock County well."

Daniel is a partner in the law firm of Jinks, Daniel & Crow in Union Springs.  She also serves part-time as an Assistant District Attorney for Bullock County, and has operated a private law practice.

"I am honored and humbled that Governor Riley has entrusted me with this position," said Daniel.  "It is a wonderful opportunity to serve my community, and particularly the children of the community."

She received her law degree from Jones School on Law in 1993, and holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Auburn University Montgomery.  She is a member of the Alabama Association for Justice and the American Bar Association.  She has also worked with the Bullock County Youth Organization and the Bullock County - Union Springs Crime Stoppers.

The appointment is effective immediately.
