Update on Vandalized Confederate Monument

Charles Thomas is attempting to clean the defaced monument free of cost. Charles Thomas is attempting to clean the defaced monument free of cost.

The cleanup process of the Confederate Memorial Monument at the state capitol will resume on Wednesday. 

The monument was vandalized in early November when someone spray painted the hands and faces over several Confederate War figures with black paint.

On Wednesday and Friday, Charles Thomas with Masonry Arts will be back to test products for cleaning the monument. 

The cleaning will begin as soon as the most effective product is found.
