Two Juveniles Escape Custody, Recaptured on Interstate

Two juvenile delinquents are back in the youth detention center after escaping over the weekend.

Police say the two escapees somehow got out of the Mount Miegs detention facility around 7pm Sunday night.

They allegedly stole a car and headed north on Interstate 65.

A state trooper spotted the car and followed the two until back-up arrived near the Pine Level exit.

Lt. George Beaudry of the Montgomery Count sheriff's office says, "The two juveniles were taken into custody without incident. The juveniles and the vehicle will be returned to the Department of Youth Services."

Local sheriff's deputies assisted in the operation. Authorities say no one was hurt in the chase.
