Liston Eddins Named YMCA Man of the Year

Montgomery's youth honored the capitol city's man of the year Monday night.  Liston Eddins was named the 56th YMCA man of the year.  Many of Montgomery's civic leaders were honored Monday night at the 56th YMCA Man of the Year Banquet.  YMCA Clubs and Branches nominated over twenty men and women from the Montgomery area.

Eddins is the owner of Eddins Properties in Montgomery.  He has served the YMCA through his involvement in the Metro Board of Directors and on the Southeast YMCA Board.  He has been a volunteer with the YMCA for over 30 years services as a Youth Sports Coach.  Eddins was a key player in starting the "Give Back" clinic which brought Auburn and Alabama players to Montgomery to help Youth Sports participants each year.

Eddins was a team captain on the 1975 Auburn University Football Team.  Eddins and his wife Nancy have three sons, Blake, Bret and Bart.  They are members of the Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

The YMCA's Man of the Year program is planned and executed by teens throughout Montgomery.  Ken Upchurch was named the YMCA Man of the Year at last year's program.  He was the speaker for Monday night's banquet.
