The Troy Police Department has confirmed the discovery of skeletal remains in a heavily wooded area in the Pocosain community, not far from Troy.
Department spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarborough says some personal items were found with the body though is it not known at this time what those items are.
The remains were found by a hunter around noon Wednesday in the same general area where Burnese Rudolph's car was found abandoned over a year ago.
The Pike County District Attorney's Office, Department of Forensic Science and the Pike County Coroner have been notified.
