Central Alabama Projects In Line For Federal Funding

Several projects in the Central Alabama area are in line for additional federal funding.

Senator Richard Shelby confirms the projects are included in a new spending bill.

The bill includes $1.5 million for the Franklin Field Airport development in Bullock County, and $700,000 for the Alabama Association of Area Agencies on Aging.

The city of Montgomery's Intelligence Transportation System would receive more than a $1 million.

The capital city and the Auburn Airport Intermodal Center would both receive more than $1 million dollars.

More than $22 million in funding will go toward the Interstate 85 extension.

The U.S. House and U.S. Senate will soon vote on the bill.
