Tighter Restrictions on Teen Drivers

Tighter restrictions could soon be in place for teen drivers in Alabama.

The state already issues a graduated driver's license prohibiting 16-year-olds from driving after midnight and from carrying more than four passengers at a time.

State representative Jim Mcclendon has also drawn up legislation to ban cell-phone use by drivers under 18.

The bill would also move driving restrictions up to 10pm and reduce the number of passengers to one.
