It's a test you have to pass, or you can't graduate from high school. Houston County is now offering a prep center to lower drop out rates and help students pass their graduation exams or earn GED's.
Students spend about half their day at the center and the rest at their high school. Nedra Patchett, the Prep Center Program Director, tells WSFA 12 News, "All these students are seniors from the various high schools in the county. They wanted to come, they were given an option to come, they chose to come here, their teachers help them in that process."
While at the center they work on the areas they need the most help in whether it's math, English, science or history.
