Kucinich Calls it Quits

CLEVELAND (AP) - Democrat Dennis Kucinich says he may be dropping out of the presidential race, but he's not giving up on fulfilling his campaign promises.

Speaking before supporters in Cleveland, the six-term congressman says he'll continue to fight on important issues as a member of the U.S. House.

Kucinich is abandoning his presidential aspirations to focus on a tough congressional re-election campaign.

This week, he made an urgent appeal on his Web site for congressional campaign contributions.

He faces four challengers, one of whom says Kucinich has focused too much time outside of his district while running for president.

This was Kucinich's second run for the White House. He's been one of the most outspoken liberals in Congress, opposing international free trade agreements and drawing the support of many Hollywood stars.
