WSFA 12 Update: Weather May Be to Blame for Troy House Fire

A WSFA 12 news update from Pike County , where a house caught fire. Troy Police Chief Benny Scarborough tells WSFA 12 news, no one was home when the blaze broke out Thursday night at about 9 P.M.

The blaze happened on Second Avenue in Troy.  Right now, the fire is under investigation, but Sgt. Scarborough tells us, it started in the back bedroom of the home, and bad weather may have been a factor.

Firefighters had it under control in a matter of minutes. The home has a great deal of smoke and heat damage.
