With popcorn, candy, and a crowd, moviegoers at Greenville's Edge theatre were in for a treat.
Saturday proved a night to remember for 11 year old Absalom Adams.
The Greenville resident is now a star in a new national movie--shot in Butler county.
"I never would have actually expected to see myself on the big screen," Adams said.
Adams, who played "Lonnie" in the film "Honeydripper," acted with greats like Danny Glover--an experience he still can't get over.
"I just sat there, and I didn't know what to say," he explained.
Scores of other residents also participated in the film--something Greenville's mayor says is a great way to show everyone just what the county is made of.
"It's an opportunity to tell the world about Greenville and Butler County, but also to show the kind of talent that we have in our community," Dexter McLendon said.
Actors tell us it's a surreal feeling to see their hard work pay off on the big screen.
"In the movie theatre, I'm sitting up there saying, 'Hey, you're going to see me up there," Adams explained.
With one film under his belt, Adams already has his sights set on Hollywood.
"Hopefully I'll be on the big screen and be able to see myself some more," he explained.
