Montgomery Police Make Arrests in Early Morning Shooting

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Two youths are now charged in Wednesday's early morning robbery and shooting at a Montgomery gas station.

Police tell WSFA 12 News that 16-year olds Anthony Cunningham of Princeton Road and Michael Anderson of Southmont Drive allegedly robbed two victims at the Raceway gas station on the East Boulevard and shot one in the leg.

Police say a security guard employed by Raceway heard gunshots and responded by firing at the suspects.

Police arrived on the scene as the suspects' car speed away and a chase insued.

That chase ended on Happiness Avenue when the two suspects jumped out of the car and fled on foot.

Both suspects were eventually captured.

Anderson was transported to Baptist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The security gaurd's bullet struck him in the lower back.

Cunningham was taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held on a $60,000 bond.

Both will be charged as adults and are charged with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery.
