Covering Lee County: Officers Use Spike Strips to End High Speed Chase

A high speed chase in East Alabama ended with Valley police using spike strips to stop the vehicle. Lee county deputies tried to stop 40 year old Edward Crab on Highway 280, but he refused to stop. The chase lasted about 20 minutes ending on Interstate 85 after officers used the strips to blow out his tires. The Opelika man then bailed out of the car, only to be caught by officers. Edward Crab was wanted on drug charges in Tallapoossa county.
