Expecting mothers delivering at Baptist East Medical Center will be treated to all the comforts of home. On Wednesday, the hospital showed off it's new expanded Labor and Delivery Ward. While it doesn't officially open until Thursday morning, WSFA 12 News got a sneak peek.
It features six new rooms. Each room has a sleeper sofa and recliner and flat screen television. Prior to this expansion, the hospital had 12 rooms for expecting moms. Hospital officials says this expansion shows their commitment to the community and the community's needs.
The new rooms are on a first come, first serve basis.
