New Proposal Puts Death Penalty on Hold

Attorney General Troy King is not happy about a new proposal that puts executions on hold in the state for 3 years. Speaking in Huntsville, King said it violates victim's rights and it is not fair to families who have lost a loved one to violence. He also said it is "time that we get about the business of caring about victim's of crime as we do about the criminals."  King feels this would be a terrible step back and that the only way to deter crime is by carrying out sentences and finding ways to keep criminals from walking free.
