Tuskegee, Ala. (WSFA) -- A Clanton man has struck it rich after a trip to the VictoryLand- Macon County Greyhound Park, literally.
He didn't bet on the race, but rather slipped on the bathroom floor.
The slippery situation cost the entertainment complex in court to the tune of $1.5 million.
The judgement came in the case filed by Ronnie Lawrence who claimed that leaking bathroom fixtures created an accumulation of water on the floor back in February, 2003.
Lawrence's lawyers tell the Associated Press that their client suffered from multiple spinal injuries.
A jury awarded the man $1million in compensatory damages and $500,000 in punititive damages.
The judge will issue a final judgement on the case next week.
