We are a step closer to learning the fate of former Ku Klux Klansman Bobby Frank Cherry. His defense rested Monday after calling witnesses to counter claims that he took part in the 1963 bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.

Among the witnesses, a man who testified against two other klansmen, saying he saw them the night before the bombing.   Monday though, Bill Jackson testified he did not see Cherry with the other men.

With the close of defense testimony, attorneys said final arguments will be given Tuesday.
