Fire Department: Vagrant to Blame for Mid-Day Fire

Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- A Montgomery house is a total loss this afternoon after a mid-day fire swept through the structure.

Folks as far away as Prattville called the WSFA 12 News Room wanting to know where all the smoke was coming from.

Approximately eight fire units battled the blaze at a house on Finley Avenue just south of Interstate 85 in Montgomery.

No injuries were reported because the structure was vacant when the fire started.

At one point there was a threat that the fire could spread beyond that home, but the fire is now contained to just that structure.
