Federal Prison Time for Union Springs Man

Union Springs, Al. (WSFA) -- A Union Springs man will spend the next 97 months in federal prison after being convicted on federal drug distribution charges.

Senior United States District Judge W. Harold Albritton handed down the ruling Thursday.

34-year old Aubrey Goodwin was found guilty in December 2007 on a two-count indictment for distributing crack cocaine.

The charges stem from a 2003 investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Troy Police and the Narcotic's Division of the District Attorney's office.

Goodwin was convicted by a jury of distributing over 67 grams of cocaine.

After he is released, Goodwin will spend another four years on supervised release.
