Opelika, Al. -- A baby girl found dead in an Opelika drainage ditch last month has been laid to rest.
"I talked to my wife and she said that baby deserves a proper burial," says Lee County coroner Bill Harris.
Harris and his wife planned funeral services for the infant, with help from the community.
The city donated a plot and others donated flowers and money to buy her an outfit and a pink blanket.
Investigators are still waiting for forensic tests to come back to determine whether charges will be filed against the mother.
