Auburn, Al. (WSFA) -- An Auburn University student has been honored for his heroic efforts.

Congressman Mike Rogers, (R) Alabama, presented a Congressional Record to Daniel Brinson for his selfless act.

Daniel and a friend were on their way to the beach in 2007 when they saw a multiple car accident.

They pulled over to help and Daniel even pulled a woman from a burning car.

Congressman Rogers says, "Anytime we see extraordinary heroism, I think we need to take note of it as a country, and let people know we have real heroes among us. This is an extraordinary act and I think Congress took note of that."

Daniel credits his background as a volunteer firefighter for knowing what to do to save the young woman's life.
