MHS Student Released From Hospital Nearly 3 Weeks After Fatal Crash

Marbury, Al. (WSFA) -- The 15-year old Marbury High School student who survived a horrific car crash on Valentine's Day is out of the hospital and recovering at home today.

Marybeth Sewell was a passenger in the car driven by another MHS student, 18-year old Devin Mackey.

Mackey was killed instantly when an 18-wheeler logging truck slammed into the side of his Ford Taurus while the two were traveling to school.

Sewell was seriously injured during the crash and was rushed to the critical care unit at Baptist Medical Center south with broken bones and internal injures.
