Enterprise, Al. (WSFA) -- Enterprise residents are about to have to pay pay a little more at the checkout counter.

That's because the city council upped the city's sales tax from 8% to 8.5% to pay for the rebuilding of Enterprise High School and Hillcrest Elementary School.

Both schools were decimated by a tornado March 1, 2007.

The additional tax should generate $2 million a year to help pay off the $30 million loan the city borrowed to pay its part of the school re-construction bill.
