Reward Account Set Up in Burk's Name

Auburn, Al. (WSFA) -- The family of murdered Auburn University student Lauren Burk has set up a bank account to fund a reward in the death of their daughter.

Donations can be made at any Wachovia Bank branch by asking for the "Lauren Burk Memorial Fund".

The family says the money will go to the person/s that help arrest Lauren's killer.

However, if police capture her killer the money raised from the memorial fund will go to the Invisible Children's Fund, a charity the freshman girl was involved in helping.

Governor Bob Riley's office is also offering $10,000 in the case.

And on the "RIP Lauren Burk" memorial page of Facebook, a wristband fundraiser is moving forward to raise money that initially was to go to the family's fund.

However, according to the page the family has asked that the money be redirected to the ICF charity.

Around 5,000 of the wristbands, lime green with the band Coldplay's quote " We live in a beautiful world", are on order. For more information on the wristbands and to see the Facebook memorial site click here.
