Firefighters Protest Code at Statehouse

When Katrina hit the shores of Alabama FEMA asked to see the state's building code plan. When FEMA was told there wasn't one legislators figured they'd better get busy.

Firefighters turned out in force from all over the state to tell legislators they are not happy with what they have come up with so far.

The bill would create a council to come up with building and fire codes for the whole state.

Firefighters are upset because out of the 10 member proposed council, they say the one firefighter representative on it can not vote.
