Montgomery Teen Admits to Murder

Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- A Montgomery teenager is headed to prison for killing another man in broad daylight.

19-year old Christopher Whelan confessed to the crime in a Montgomery County courtroom Monday morning.

Investigators say Whelan shot 21-year old Sylvester Jernigan four times at a house near Susan Drive.

Police caught Whelan after a short chase.

Whelan could get 20 years to life in prison.

He will be sentenced on April 4th.
