Opp, Al. (WSFA) -- Officials broke ground in Opp Tuesday for the Mizell Wellness Center. Mizell Memorial Hospital officials say the center will work to help curb obesity in the county.
The 11,000 square foot facility will house a number of amenities including an Olympic sized salt water pool, weight and exercise area, a kids play area and outpatient therapy.
Newly diagnosed diabetes patients will also be able to take cooking classes at the facility.
The city obtained a lower interest loan through the USDA to pay for the $2.5 million facility.
