Cold Snap Moving into Alabama

Less than a week into spring, its feeling a lot like winter.

A freeze watch is in effect from late tonight through tomorrow (Tuesday) morning for dozens of counties in central, east and south Alabama.

The late cold snap means subfreezing temperatures will inspire farmers, gardeners and parents alike to bundle their crops and children.

Some areas could see readings plummet into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

So, you will definitely need those coats, scarves and socks.

Coming up on WSFA 12 News at 10:00 we'll have a report from Chilton County looking at what effects farmers are facing when it comes to their peach crops.
