Verdict in Trial of Former White Hall Police Officer

Tonight a Lowndes County jury found former White Hall Police Officer Jesse Johnson not guilty on two charges; but guilty of one.

The jury found Johnson not guilty of two felonies - reckless murder and manslaughter,  but guilty of negligent homicide. Which is a misdemeanor and lesser charge.

Jesse Johnson was involved in a fatal car accident in October 2006.

Troopers say Mary Webster pulled out in front of Johnson. Prosecutors say he was going too fast when he hit and killed her.

Johnson says he hopes this repairs his reputation. He is no longer employed with the police department.
