Shots Fired in Montgomery Neighborhood, Off Duty Police Officer Involved

WSFA 12 news is following a developing story. A shooting in a Montgomery neighborhood involving an off duty police officer.

It happened around 6pm, Thursday, on Vonora Avenue.

Police say it started with a disagreement between a neighbor and a couple in a car.

When the car drove off shots were fired from the vehicle at the neighbors home. Two other homes were hit.

Police tells us some of those shots were fired in the direction of an off duty police officer who lives in the area.

He returned fire.

A number of people were outside at the time of the shooting. No one was hurt.

Police found the suspects and the car a few streets over.

Late tonight authorities identified the suspects as 19 year old Tremane Bell and 29 year old Tiffany James. Tonight, they are in custody and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and reckless endangerment.
