Covington County, Al. (WSFA) -- The Covington County Sheriff's office is investigating the homicide of a woman in the Beulah Community just south of Opp.
Investigators found the body of a 72-year old woman Sunday morning at a residence in the community. Police say she was shot multiple times. Her name has not been released.
Sixty-six year old Harold Elton Todd of T.T. Clark Road in Opp was arrested at the scene and charged with the woman's murder.
He is currently being held on $500,000 bond at the Covington County Jail.
Police say Todd and the victim had a history of arguing, and that might be a factor in the investigation. Todd has a criminal record, but only for minor infractions.
The case is still under investigation.
