Prattville Junior High Students Heading to National Science Olympiad

A group of Prattville Junior High School students are gearing up for a national competition.

The 17 students are heading to the National Olympiad, a 23 event competition held in Washington, D.C.

The advanced science students won the honor by placing second in regional and state competitions.

Their coach says they've worked hard to accomplish this goal, but they still have to work to raise the funds to get there. They need to raise between $5,000-$10,000 to pay for room and board.

The students will compete against 29 other schools for bragging rights and college scholarships. The National Science Olympiad is May 29th-May 31.
