Mobile, Al. -- It's expected to have a huge economic impact on the state of Alabama, and right now the site of the Thyssenkrupp steel plant looks like any other construction site.
However, it's unlike any other on the Gulf Coast.
The sheer size of the project makes it complex.
Developers have had to work around wetlands and endangered animals, ensuring minimal impact to the environment, the state historical commission examined the site and helped clear it.
Developers say the Thyssenkrupp site is on schedule and will be ready to open in 2010.
