Lawmaker Admits to Voting for Absent House Members

A Democratic lawmaker admits to voting for House members not present in the session.

Representative Randy Hinshaw of Meridianville said he voted for the absent House Members because he believed it was in the best interests of his district.

Now, Republicans are claiming that some Democrats cheated by casting votes for absent members...saying those votes passed the bill to remove the state sales tax on food.

At least four members who were not at the Statehouse Tuesday were recorded as voting "yes" on the bill.
