Tallassee, Al. (WSFA) -- Tallassee police and the Tallapoosa Sheriff's office make an arrest in Friday morning's Tallassee bank robbery.

According to police a white male wearing sunglasses and a Dale Earnhardt hat demanded money from tellers at the Colonial Bank branch on Gilmer Avenue in Tallassee around 10:30a.m.

Authorities arrested 31-year old Gregory Carlos Foley of Wetumpka for the crime.

After the suspect left the scene, eye witnesses gave police the information they needed to track him down. The type of car, its color and probably the most important piece of information - its license plate number - helped Tallassee police zero in on Foley as a suspect.

No one at the bank was injured, as the robber wasn't even carrying a weapon.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation because bank robbery is a federal crime.
