Woods Announces Bill Dickinson, Jr. As His Campaign Manager

Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- Local Republican businessman and candidate for Congress David Woods today announced that Bill Dickinson, Jr., son of the late U.S. Representative Bill Dickinson, would serve as Chairman of Woods' campaign for Alabama's Second Congressional District seat.

"It is a true pleasure to take an active role in David's campaign for Congress," said Bill Dickinson, Jr.  "For forty-four years, Alabama's Second District has thrived under strong conservative leadership.  In my opinion, David is the candidate best able to continue that legacy.  As a businessman, he understands the need to apply firm, business-minded solutions to the challenges our country faces."

"I am honored to have the support of someone of Bill's caliber and am excited that he will be taking an active role in our campaign," said David Woods.  "With more that twenty years of law enforcement experience under his belt, including five years in counterterrorism, Bill has a strong understanding of the security issues facing this nation.  His knowledge and insight will be a tremendous asset for this campaign."

Bill Dickinson, Jr. recently retired from the Office of the Alabama Attorney General, after more than 20 years in law enforcement.  Most recently, he served in the Attorney General's Criminal Investigations division.  From 2002 until 2007, he was an active participant in the F.B.I.'s Joint Terrorism Task Force.  His father, the late U.S. Representative Bill Dickinson, represented Alabama's Second Congressional District for 28 years, eventually becoming the Ranking Member on the House Armed Services Committee.
