Gas Line Ruptures in Downtown Montgomery

Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- Montgomery police and fire officials as well as Alagasco officials closed off several downtown streets because of a gas leak Tuesday night.

The situation occured at the corner of Clay and North Goldwaithe Streets, near Interstate 65.

Apparently, a vehicle's brakes went out and the truck slammed into a building, rupturing a gas line.

Susan Delaney, a spokesperson for Alagasco, says repaires have now been made to the lines and everything was cleared up by 10:30 Tuesday night.

There were no injuries and no service interuptions reported.
