Montgomery, Al. (WSFA) -- Montgomery Zoo officials have announced a name for it's five month old baby elephant!

Her name is MaKena (prounounced mah-kee-nah), which means "Happy One" in Swahili, an African language.

Folks at the Zoo say four names were submitted for the elephant calf.

Visitors who came to the zoo earlier this month for "Zoo Weekend" cast their votes and chose her name.

MaKena is the first african elephant ever born in the state of Alabama.
