Enterprise Makes Big Announcement

The city of Enterprise made a major economic announcement today.

They announced that there will soon be a ground breaking for a new retail community called 'Camellia Commons.'

The 750-thousand square-foot retail shopping center will be built at 100 Boll Weevil Circle West and will house several upscale anchor stores, family restaurants, hotels, apartments, and homes.

The design is being compared to the Shoppes at East Chase in East Montgomery.

According to Enterprise mayor Kenneth Boswell, the shopping center will "change the complexion of Enterprise forever".

The state has committed 6 million dollars so far towards building an additional lane on the bypass from Highway 27 to Highway 167 to aid construction on the project.

Alabama is serving up heat, humidity and a side of storms today. We're starting out warm and humid (with a few isolated showers in central Alabama). The heat really cranks up this afternoon when highs reach the low 90s and heat index values soar above 100°. Showers and storms will come to cool us off but may squash your outdoor plans. Like yesterday, a good portion of you will have rain pass overhead this afternoon and evening. (rain will be slow moving, cause frequent light...
