A close call for a Montgomery police officer who crashed his motorcyle while on duty this afternoon. Police say the officer got off Interstate 85 and headed down South Union Street when he lost control, hit a concrete divider and crashed in the middle of the road. Medics took him to an area hospital. Sgt. B. E. Fulton of the Montgomery Police Department said, "when he hit the curb, he got knocked off the motorcycle. Of course the bike is severely damaged. Of course, he's okay and he doesn't have anything that appears to be seriously wrong with him." Investigators tell WSFA 12 News the weather is to blame causing the officer to hydropolane on the slick road which caused him to crash.
