State Prepares for Hurricane Season

Hurricane season doesn't begin until June but Governor Bob Riley says being prepared could mean the difference between life and death.

Employees with the Alabama Department of Transportation and the Alabama Department of Public Safety began a two day interstate lane reversal training program Tuesday.

During the even of a hurricane the state can stop southbound traffic on I-65 and make all lanes northbound.

Governor Riley says the employees need to act as if their training is the real deal.
