Montgomery, AL (WSFA) -- Law enforcement officials in Dale County are calling a recent equipment upgrade a new set of eyes in the skies. The Dale County Sheriffs' helicopter now has the ability to tranmist images to crews on the ground. These images can now be live streamed to the ground through the new microwave transmitter on the helicopter. Sheriffs officials say this new technology makes their decision making much easier. Chief Deputy Tim McDonald dale says, "it gives them the eyes to be able to make the decisions that are needed." The new equipment was made possible by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.
