Pike Road Residents Meet to Discuss Plans for Creating New School System

Pike Road residents meet to talk about plans for creating their school system.  Residents called it an educational summit with an impressive list of educators as speakers: deans and professors from all over the country were brought in to discuss the concept of a professional development school.  Residents plan to create the new school system sometime in the near future.  Patty Payne from the Pike Road Curriculum Committee says, "we're going to be offering everything from helping candidate teachers become master teachers to offering college courses right on our own campus for residents or whoever wants to come in and take courses here in pike road." Pike Road will build their first school in the Waters community. Auburn, Auburn Montgomery, Alabama State University, and Troy University are signed on to participate when that day comes.
