Hurricane season is just around the corner and Governor Riley wants to make sure the state is prepared. The governor, state and emergency management officials held a news conference in Mobile to discuss the state's plans for the event of a hurricane. They are running through every potential scenario, discussing capabilities, action plans and the expectations of the communities. Governor Riley noted since hurricane forecasts have become so refined, people watching them believe they can continue vacations until a storm nears landfall before evacuating. He urged all tourists on gulf beaches to not wait until the last minute to evacuate. The governor also said Alabama is more prepared than we have ever been.
