(AP) - After a one day pause, gas prices across Alabama moved closer to the $4 a gallon mark. On Wednesday, the AAA Alabama gas station survey shows regular averages $3.84 a gallon. That's a half-cent increase from Tuesday and a dime cheaper than the national average of $3.94 a gallon.
Midgrade averages $4.10 while premium fuel costs $4.23 a gallon Diesel jumped almost a full penny to nearly $4.68 a gallon - that is also about ten cents below the national average.
AAA's metro averages for regular range from $3.82 in Birmingham to $3.88 in Mobile. This time last year, gas prices were about 80 cents cheaper than it is Wednesday.
